Its a water walker for your dog!

Walking in water has some 'magic' qualities and dates back to around 3500BC and ancient civilisations when Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome utilised warm water baths and natural springs for healing to treat ailments advocating for their health and wellness benefits.  Fast forward to the 20th Century where specialised equipment marked the incorporation of hydrotherapy into clinical rehabilitation.

Add exercise to water and this gives us an amazing, safe, effective and highly controlled environment to improve your dogs mobility and quality of life.

Why is the water walker so great?

BUOYANCY  - supports a dog's body weight, decompressing joints meaning dogs can move more  easily and with more comfort

RESISTANCE - Muscles have to work harder against water so we build muscle mass, strength and stamina more easily than on land.

HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE - this is the pressure that water exerts on the body whilst in water, it helps to promote circulation, reduce swelling and aid recovery.

TEMPERATURE - warm water is both relaxing and helps to increase circulation promoting ease of movement

PROPRIOCEPTION - This is the body's way of telling where we are in space, and immersion in water gives the body's nervous system constant enhanced sensory feedback to the body and brain - this is excellent for older dogs, dogs with poor balance, and especially dogs with any neurological deficit.

BIOMECHANICS OF WALKING IN WATER - helps with postural balance, reducing musculoskeletal compensations and gently encourages the correct muscles to engage, increasing range of motion through the joints and areas that may be painful.
